I am a master student at HKB and I specialize in tutoring flute and a recorder. My goal is to keep you challenged and interested, but not overwhelmed. You will learn a variety of music styles throughout the flute.

My name is Nikolai and I am a professional flautist. I have been in this wonderful field for 14 years and am always moving forward. I come from Saint Petersburg, where I graduated from the classical lyceum "Kikin Hall" and the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. I have been in Switzerland for three years and during this time I have completed Bachler classical music at the University of the Arts and am now enrolled in the Master Pedagogue at the HKB. I have been teaching transverse flute at the Schmitten and Niederscherli music school for 2 years and I have been teaching privately for 5 years.

My course is extremely flexible - we can work with songs and songs you love, as well as the most difficult etudes and large repertoire pieces. But what always remains is a good mood, a friendly atmosphere, professional methods (correct position of the instrument, correct breathing and easy technique) and joy in music!

We work out technical basics and pieces together. In addition, we will make music and improvise together and discover the diversity of the flute.

Briefly about me: I am a music student at the Bern University of the Arts. I'm currently completing my master's degree in performance. I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees in education with honors. I have been playing the flute since second primary school and decided to turn my hobby into a career in 2017. I would like to pass on my joy of the transverse flute to as many people as possible and hope that you will also be enthusiastic about this instrument!

My name is Camilla, I have a degree in flute and a lot of experience teaching, both with children and adults. I can't wait to teach you how to play my amazing instrument!

Learn to play the flute! First, we will focus on the sound production, the position of the mouthpiece and your posture. Then we will deal with playful pieces, we can play in duet and play melodies that you like. Playing the flute will help you develop your memory, hearing and breathing skills.

I think it's important for children that flute lessons are also music education. For beginners, we get to know the breathing technique through creative games, the "blow competition" with crumpled paper balls is particularly popular. We learn the rhythms with claps and rhymes, but I often explain the bar structure by assembling Lego blocks. I show musicality and technique accompanied by songs, improvisation, playing the flute or piano together. You don't even notice, you're so good at it that you can give your family your own concert. And if you already play the flute, bring your favorite pieces, even pop songs, to class! If you're playing with a band, I'll give you ideas and tips. If you already know all the tones, I'll even show you new techniques like whistling or drumming on the flute. There is always something new and surprising on this instrument! Together we will explore the flute instrument in more detail and set out to achieve your wish or goal - be it learning a song by Billie Eilish, playing her favorite piece at grandma's birthday party, working on your technique and your fingers to train them so that they can play very fast passages, to discover new music with me in class and have fun, or, or, or!

I myself come from Aargau, but live and study in Bern at the University of the Arts. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in education. In addition to great chamber music and improvisation projects, I play and organize in the Bern student orchestra. I also have many years of experience with wind orchestras and enjoy leading register rehearsals.
In addition to music, I really enjoy being in nature, for example in the mountains or the refreshing Aare. I also enjoy reading and am interested in psychological topics.

In my lessons, you'll learn to enjoy music naturally, step by step, always tailored to your level and interests. It's not just about technique, but also about expressing yourself, enjoying playing, and discovering everything the flute has to offer.

Lessons can be structured in different ways: through technique, studies and works, or by exploring pieces intended for special occasions – to be played with the family or even together with other musicians.

Play cello together in a small group! Children, teenagers, and adults can play as a duo or small ensemble. The course is suitable for all levels – from beginners to advanced. We'll learn to play music together, listen to each other, develop rhythm and harmony, and create pieces together. At the same time, each participant receives individual support with the pieces they would like to practice. Above all, the focus is on having fun playing music together.
