About Me
Kin Man, postgraduate scholarship holder (Bolseiro de Mérito de Pós-Graduados) of the Macau government, is currently a PhD student under Prof. Dr. Undine Frömming in the field of Visual and Media Anthropology.

In 1987, he was born in Macao, the son of Cantonese illegal immigrants from the PRC, then "Chinese territory under Portuguese administration". Studied Lusitanian at the University of Macau and Portuguese as a Foreign Language at the Universities of Coimbra and Lisbon with several grants. His bachelor's thesis, which is based on his documentary film about Macau's identity in Europe and North America, made a special mention of Macau's “Young Research Award” in 2010. After completing his professional training as an interpreter at the European Commission, he worked as a translator at the Macanese Office for Language Affairs, which was the office for Sinian affairs in colonial Macau and therefore brought him far-reaching inspiration in relation to postcolonialism.

2012 - 2014 completed the master's program "Visual and Media Anthropology" at the Free University of Berlin and a research internship in the field of sociology at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His master's degree film “A Useless Fiction” won awards in Canada, Spain, the United States, China and India and was shown in more than twenty countries. He has been writing for the press occasionally for over a decade, and has been curating international film and video programs for two years.
Education

Experience / Qualifications
In 2014 I completed a B2 certificate preparatory course at the Goethe Institute in Singapore. After two years of actively participating in various courses at FU Berlin and adult education centers and the professional experience mentioned above, I am now very used to the German language. I am aware that my German level has a lot of leeway, but my many years of experience as a translator allow me to have a fine sense of culture.

With the innermost passion of playing and teaching this interesting instrument, I would love to encounter more international students from diverse backgrounds, as long as we can communicate in English/Chinese.

2025 is my 11th year of practicing. The music ran through my college time in Beijing, pursuing master's degree in the UK, Australia, Italy, and now in Germany as a PhD candidate in art history. My another profession is art curator and researcher. I am keen to spread the music to more regions and population, and even more, fusing the music with different genres of global music.

Traditional Sichuan School 1v1 teaching according to student's individual level. There is no fixed order to learn Guqin music. For beginners to advanced. Except for traditional pieces, we can also work with pop music transfers based on individual interest.

My Teaching list:

仙翁操 (Xiānwēng Cāo) – Immortal’s Song

酒狂 (Jiǔ Kuáng) – Drunken Ecstasy

关山月 (Guānshān Yuè) – Moon Over the Mountain Pass
