I'm Gavin and I love teaching musicians young and old to develop their abilities and competency in music. The guitar is my first Instrument but I have developed a significant amount of work playing a Slide Guitar. Primarily on an instrument most commonly referred to and Dobro, it's actually called a Resonophonic Square Neck Guitar. I have been playing music for nearly 34 years. I have been successfully teaching students a variety of slide styles and instruments for 15 years.
I graduated with a 1st BA(Hons) Degree in Music from Salfrord University (2001) I have a wealth of experience, academic teaching, out playing and session experience. During my studies I started to build by violin teacher practice. Apart from my private students I taught at the music school "Muziekdorp" in Wijchen and coached a band of high school students for a year.
Next to teaching I play concerts with the "Metropole Academy", I have a string quartet "The Four Frogs in te Woods", and I'm playing in a Folk string duo.

Students of all ages and categories are welcome in my lesson.
Classical, Folk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and free improvisation are some of the genres you can discover in our lessons.
I did a Teacher Training with the American Violinist Mark O'Connor and finished this training with a diploma. His method is a very beautiful and comprehensive way to learn the variety of the violinistic possibilities.

With beginner saxophone students, we will first work on proper instrument holding and posture. Then, before blowing into the saxophone, we will practice long-tone exercises using the mouthpiece. Once comfortable with these fundamentals, we will start producing sound from the instrument and learning the notes. We will focus on long-tone exercises to develop control and consistency.

We gradually start incorporating short exercises or simple melodies as the student progresses. Learning and progressing on an instrument mostly depends on the student's dedication and practice habits.

If you love music and commit time to it, you can reach a good level in a short period!

Together we can develop your skill as a cello player, building a strong technical and musical foundation. We will find a learning style that best suits you.
