Hi, I’m Cassie—a British jazz saxophonist, award-winning composer, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire graduate, now based in Berlin. I’m currently looking for a couple of private saxophone and/or composition students who are keen to develop their skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Saxophone Lessons:

With a strong background in Jazz and improvised music, I offer saxophone lessons tailored to each student’s needs—whether you’re preparing for ABRSM or Royal College exams (or other equivalent examination boards), exploring jazz improvisation, or just playing for fun. As a performer, I’ve played at major festivals and venues across the UK, USA & Europe such as Glastonbury Festival (UK, SXSW (USA) and Paris Jazz Festival (FR). I am still active as a touring band-leader/artist and I bring that real-world experience into my teaching.

Composition Lessons:

As a classical composer, my work spans orchestral, chamber, and jazz ensemble writing, with commissions from leading arts organisations and orchestras - recent commissions include the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic. My lessons focus on notation, orchestration, and arranging—whether you’re composing for small ensembles or larger-scale works. I hold a BMus Hons degree in composition from Trinity Laban Conservatoire (London) where I studied with American composer Stephen Montague and British composer Andrew Poppy.

Composition lessons I am able to teach both in-person and online via Zoom.

As a composer and actively performing artist, teaching is an integral part of my musical journey. Experience / Qualifications

Beyond private teaching, I have led community and educational projects that celebrate collaboration and accessibility in music. In 2020 and 2021, I arranged and conducted a community ensemble for EFG London Jazz Festival’s She is Jazz: Womxn Make Music performances at the prestigious London venues Southbank Centre and King’s Place.

My work as a composer includes commissioned works from the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Ensemble Intercontemporain, London Sinfonietta and Ligeti Quartet. Arranging work includes compositions for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and continuing to write for me eleven-piece touring ensemble "seed." in which I also perform as an alto-saxophonist.

As a teacher I enjoy guiding my students down a wide variety of musical paths. Whether it's advanced classical pieces, harmonic concepts, an introduction to improvisation, favourite Joni Mitchell songs or teaching beginners to read music for the first time, I enjoy the variety and find it highly rewarding. I always encourage my students to pursue their individual musical interests, at the same time as bringing my own ideas and experience to the table.

I teach all ages and abilities, on Mondays and Tuesdays (other days by arrangement) at my practice space near Bergmannkiez (Berlin-Kreuzberg). Discounts for people on a low-income/students can be discussed.

I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music.

In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works.

My name is Diego, I am a guitarist and composer currently living in Berlin. I am offering guitar and music lessons to everyone interested in learning music, from beginners to advanced players who want to improve their skills. I find teaching very inspiring and challenging. I have been a teacher in different schools and privately in the last years in Spain and Berlin. I have a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the Basque Country, Musikene (Spain).

Each person is different, so I adapt to the needs and interests of each one. We always work on things that are important to you. Along with this, there are certain topics that I consider necessary for further development:

Through time I have found out that starting by playing songs chosen by the student and creating exercises to practice that came out from the drums of that song is a very good way to learn how to play the instrument. I am a trained jazz drummer (Bachelor of Music, HfMT Hamburg, final grade 1.0), taught for many years at the Neumünster Music School (Schleswig-Holstein) and was a lecturer for percussion major at the Academy of the Hamburg Conservatory for one year.
