Drums, as with bass guitar are the backbone of any good song, and the foundation upon which the music is built. Despite not being as famous as lead vocals or lead guitar. Drums in my opinion is much more fun, at all levels of performance.

I will teach you how to play the drums, how to fit the style to the genre and we will learn by practice by breaking down the famous classics, and explain what part drums played to make these classics so good.

We will use my electronic drumset, which is not as good as the real thing but is definitely good for starters. There are ways you can practice at home without a drumset as well. And we can expand later and rent a studio room, where I can jam with you on the guitar even!

I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music.

In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works.

I am actively engaged in playing within the music scene and have a real excitement for all types of music, whether it’s learning your first chords on guitar or working on improvisation or music theory. We'll go at the right pace for you and achieve your goals together.

Through time I have found out that starting by playing songs chosen by the student and creating exercises to practice that came out from the drums of that song is a very good way to learn how to play the instrument. I’m Matías “Tute” González, an Argentine pianist, music teacher, arranger and composer based in Berlin. I hold a degree in Music with a focus on Piano from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes and a music teaching qualification from the Conservatorio Astor Piazzolla in Buenos Aires.

My lessons are adapted to your level, interests and goals, whether you are starting from scratch, returning to the piano or looking to deepen your skills.

We can work on piano technique, reading music, ear training, harmony, accompaniment, improvisation and composition. My musical background is rooted in Argentine tango and also includes jazz and pop, with experience in orchestras, small ensembles and solo piano.
