About Me

I like to help with my knowledge and what experience I have to give lessons to students that also want to improve and better themselves. I am open to students at all different levels regardless of their current standing in their respective subject area. I am here to help them progress after all. 🤗

Education

I’m currently a Yr14 student at a grammar school studying A-Level Maths, Physics and Digital Technology planning on studying Artificial Intelligence at UCL. I am willing to tutor for other subjects too! I can additionally tutor for English (GCSE, A*A*) as well as Physics/general science and Digital Technology.

Experience / Qualifications

Previously worked as a tutor for the Asian Passion Programme which involved tutoring students of various ages across Asia that had been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, I am a Young STEM Ambassador and have worked with teaching younger children both in person and online.

I am a young student, which I believe places in me in a far better place to mentor and tutor a child. I hope, this will act as inspiration for what they too can achieve with a little hard work and self belief.

I spent the last three years as a tutor, the former as an in-school tutor working in schools, therefore I'm familiar with the curriculum being taught. I was assisting in lessons and running intervention groups. As part of my role, I was also placed in charge of reading intervention for KS3 mainly working with year 8's and 7's. I have one on one experience, as well as helping the teachers in lesson. I found it worthwhile enabling students to power through, whether it be by encouraging them to try or adapting the way they perceived tasks.

The past two years, I've been working as a private tutor catering to year 8 - year 11 students. I focus on first targeting problem areas, before moving on to solidifying the understanding of the subject. All through this process, we will be using exam questions and exam style question where available, to give the best possible chance for the Exams. I'm very relaxed and love to input a little humour for my sake and the student, as it fosters a relaxed environment and the student to take on my input.

I have 3 years experience of working in schools but also as a private tutor. I am also able to cater towards SEN, having worked as an SEN TA this last year.

I am starting at Queen's University Belfast where I'll be study Economics and Accounting.

My areas of strength are mathematics and drawing for secondary school students and the GCSE examinations. My aim is to present the topics in such a way that the students can understand easily and be motivated. I assign homework after every lesson to help the student grasp the topic well and I also provide progress reports.

Mathematics as anyone will tell you can be a very fickle subject to learn. I find the the best way to learn Mathematics is to try as many problems as possible and the understanding comes after you work at it.

In my lessons I will give you problems relating to the topic you tell me you are having trouble with and ask you to solve them to the best of your ability then when you think you're done we'll go over the solutions and I will explain to the best of my ability the reasons we arrive at these solutions. The more you try the better you'll be at mathematics.
