Learn French at your own pace and according to your goals.

I am Yamila Wahba, a French as a Foreign Language teacher, holder of the DAEFLE and DALF C2 certifications, with over 15 years of teaching experience. I also have experience as an examiner for the DELF, DALF, TEF, and TCF exams.

I offer private French lessons in person in Bogotá and online, specifically designed for the needs of each student.

Before starting the process, we identified:

🎯 Your current level;
🎯 the goal you want to achieve;
🎯 your strengths and weaknesses;
🎯 your interests;
🎯 the learning pace that works best for you.

From there I build a customized program.

You can take classes with me to:

- General French, from beginner to advanced level;
- conversation and improvement;
- preparation for DELF, DALF, TEF and TCF;
- school reinforcement;
- support for students from international schools;
- homeschooling;
- French for travel, personal or professional projects;
- Refresher course if you have previously studied French.

I work with children, teenagers, adults, and seniors.

My methodology prioritizes communication and the practical use of the language. Depending on your interests, we can integrate literature, film, art, culture, travel, and different aspects of the Francophone world.

It's not simply about completing units in a book: we want you to understand your progress and use French with increasing autonomy and confidence.

About Me
I am Yamila Wahba, a French as a foreign language teacher with more than 15 years of experience accompanying children, teenagers and adults in French learning processes.

I hold the DAEFLE – Diplôme d'Aptitude à l'Enseignement du Français Langue Étrangère, a DALF-certified C2 level certificate, and experience as an examiner for DELF, DALF, TEF, and TCF. Throughout my career, I have worked in institutions such as Smart, the Alliance Française, and private schools in Bogotá, in addition to having developed part of my academic and professional experience in France.

My classes are personalized and geared towards specific goals. Before we begin, we'll identify your level, your needs, your interests, and how you learn best. From there, I'll design a learning path tailored to you, whether you want to:

- learn French from scratch;
- resume a level you studied previously;
- improve your oral expression and gain confidence when conversing;
- reinforce school content;
- to accompany a homeschooling process;
- perfect your French;
- or prepare for DELF, DALF, TEF or TCF.

My approach combines communication, methodology, practice, and progress monitoring. I believe French should go beyond grammar exercises: depending on the student's profile, I incorporate activities related to film, literature, art, culture, travel, and real-life communication situations.

I work with a rigorous and structured methodology, but I also strive to create an environment where students can experiment, make mistakes, ask questions, and progress with confidence. My teaching experience includes action-based learning, teaching for understanding, Universal Design for Learning, project-based learning, and cooperative learning.

I offer online and in-person classes in Bogotá.

My goal is not simply to "look at a topic", but that you can recognize your progress and use French better and better for what you really need.

Teaching has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I first started tutoring French and Spanish to the younger years when I was in my second year of Sixth Form college in the UK at the age of 16. My love for helping people to expand their knowledge and communication in a language only kept developing from that moment. I am Lizzie, from London, I am 22 years old and I have a BA Honors in Modern Languages, during which I completed a teaching module in my last year of university and I taught English abroad in France and Argentina in my third year. I have experience in teaching all ages, from 3 to 60! I am currently a part-time English teacher with the British Council in a university in Bogota, Colombia. I only have positive feedback from my students and their parents and this success is reflected in their improving grades at school. I also work with people with special learning needs in my classes and adapt the classes as needed.

I always bring fun as well as productivity to my lessons, ensuring they are engaging and cater to the needs and preferences of each student. I am patient, enthusiastic and out-going, I believe there is no such thing as a silly question! My teaching methods include planning but adaptability, if a student on the spot says they want to work on something particular, I happily improvise and ensure they gain understanding on said topic. I like to maintain a balance of vocabulary and grammar, and mainly I focus on conversation and listening comprehension, as this is real life!

I am a very creative person, I love art, music and dance. I love to explore new cultures and travel too.
