I graduated from Cardiff University’s School of Music with a 1st class degree in Musicology in 2019. I have grade 8 qualifications in piano and music theory and a diploma in flute performance. I have an interest in the psychology of music performance and performance anxiety.

A firm grasp of the theory of musical harmony is essential for every musician, at every level. This is an important aspect of music education, regardless of specialisation (performer, composer, analyst). This course will not only give you a strong foundation in the construction and manipulation of harmony but also will help you apply this knowledge in various different scenarios.

Are you musical trained, confident enough with your instrument but finding frustrating coming up with your own compositions? Finding difficult to get idea for a new song, need suggestions for your lyrics, or just a simple understanding on a song structure? This class is based in songwriting and musical performance. I will provide any tips and suggestion to get a song done and don't get stuck between lyrics or chords. I'll be focussing in songwriting structure across different genre, pop, folk, blues, jazz. I will be also structuring the classes giving home exercise working on new sketches every week across those different genres, and diverse themes. Once the song will be completed I'll give any sort of advice on how to perform a song to an audience. How to structure a show and organise you band if you have one. During the lesson I'll be using piano as main instrument and singing. I am also confident in guitar if required. Songwriting and performance for me are quite related. Music Producers and Sound Engineers, we use the expanded capabilities of studios to extend compositions into a device for arranging and composing (DAW: Logic Pro, ProTools, Ableton Live, OneStudio, Cubase, Reaper, Reason, etc). This has caused the recording studio to become a meta-instrument, to shape entire compositions. In my opinion, we are not any more composers of music, but we are composers of sound. As a music producer, not only the instrument played is decisive on the final result, but also the background elements, which can be heard or felt throughout the project, make such a big difference.

I have a real passion for music and that's why I would love to help inspire and guide new musicians on their quest to learn the violin. Age is irrelevant when it comes to my lessons but the most important thing is that the student comes with a real incentive to learn. Everyone's musical journey is different and many people decide to learn an instrument for a different reason. Therefore, the regular structure for a lesson would very much differ from person to person. For example, beginners would mostly focus on sight-reading, proper form and technique. However, someone with a slight musical background could begin by learning pieces that they want to play and I would guide them with how to encompass the piece better and make slight adjustments to their technique along the way. When it comes to young children, I've worked in nursery and primary schools with ages from 3-7. The most important thing is that they have fun during the lessons and gain a real respect for music early on. Technique, theory and sight-reading are still incredibly important but what's most important is that the child is having an enjoyable time while learning. I have a strong musical background as I've been playing violin and piano for 14 years, I also have a great understanding of music theory. I've performed in multiple concerts of sizes of up to 5000 attendees. I was also established enough to have achieved a full music scholarship to a performing arts secondary school and college. At GCSE I achieved an A* in music and I would be more than happy to help GCSE music students with their music theory and/or composition piece.
