In my experience, the best outcomes come from (as we say in Spanish) "tirarte a la piscina", which literally means "throwing yourself into the pool". By this I mean I expect you to say anything and everything you can say in Spanish, even if you need to invent 50% or more of what you say. Hearing and trying to speak all the time is what will make you improve fastest. English is falsely presented as an easy language, especially by French speakers. This is a serious mistake! While French is often difficult because of the many grammatical exceptions, particularly regarding spelling, English is endowed with immense complexity in terms of its sounds. To simplify, English is the result of a Germanic invasion of Celtic lands, Latinized by Vikings speaking Old French from Normandy.
