Card and board games are great ways to have a lot of fun for very little expense. They can also sharpen your strategising, speed up your reactions, improve your lateral thinking and deepen your friendships.

We learn by playing, and I'm familiar with hundreds of games and expert in several dozens, from old favourites like Poker and Monopoly to modern classics such as Catan and Castles of Burgundy to more obscure games that will be perfect for some but not for others.

Each lesson is tailored to you as an individual and will depend entirely on the kind of gaming experience you are seeking, whether it's improving at a game you already know, or trying something completely new.
Extra information
Decide the kind or kinds of gameplay you are looking for - fun or strategic; traditional or modern; card or board; short or long; co-operative or competitive; solo, 2-player, small or large group - and we will help you find new games and new skills so you can have more fun and win more often.

About Me
I'm a communications lecturer, event host and journalist with teaching experience in over 60 countries. I'm also an avid player of board and card games and still play at least a couple of short games almost every day. Although I've been teaching and training a wide range of people for decades and playing games all that time, these lessons are my first attempt at combining the two.
Education
I've an MA from Edinburgh University, a postgrad diploma in Journalism from University College Cardiff and honorary doctorates from both Edinburgh and Heriot Watt.
Experience / Qualifications
I've vast experience playing and teaching friends a wide range of board and card games and am a great believer that playing sharpens your mental skills and people skills.
