Writing is a complex skill that requires a broad set of skills. To become a skilled writer, students must develop basic writing skills such as spelling, capitalization, punctuation, handwriting and keyboarding, and sentence structure. They also need to learn how to generate text by putting their thoughts into words, and how to plan and edit their work.
