Paul - ParisC$97
Trusted teacher: Looking to discover drumming for the first time, get back into it, or take your skills further? I offer fun, focused, and personalised drum lessons in a welcoming studio right here in Paris 19ème. Tailored to You Whether you're a total beginner or an advanced player, I adapt each lesson to your goals, pace, and style. Kids, teens, adults—everyone’s welcome. What You'll Learn Technique, rhythm, and groove Rock, jazz, funk, world music and more Ear training and musicality Playing with backing tracks or in ensembles Reading and improvisation Technique and Lineage My technical approach is rooted in the rebound-based methods passed down through the Murray Spivack tradition. I was taught by drummers who themselves trained in this lineage—helping you develop relaxed control, endurance, and tone. Music as a Language I teach music the way we naturally learn language: by listening and speaking before reading and writing. You’ll learn to feel rhythm, internalise timing, and express yourself on the drums. Reading and writing music are absolutely taught—but always in the right context, as tools to deepen your fluency and independence. About Me I'm an experienced educator and former professional drummer, passionate about helping others find their voice on the kit. I've taught students of all ages and backgrounds, and I believe music should be both serious and joyful. Easy to Reach The studio is in Paris 19ème, near [insert nearby métro stop if helpful], and easy to reach by public transport. Flexible Scheduling We’ll find times that work for you—daytime, evening, or weekend.

Selma - PantinC$60
Trusted teacher: Here is a little ad to help you take the plunge and learn the "piano with straps", "lung-shaker", "pushpin box", "shiver box" or sometimes even the "sorrow box" (but not with me, smiles guaranteed!), in short the accordion. My teaching method consists of offering the student several paths that will allow them to explore the instrument. I offer several approaches, including work on the quality of sound, touch, bellows, ease of playing and music. Also, I take a benevolent look at the health of the student since the instrument, by its size and weight, can hinder the musician. Learning this instrument requires assiduity and rigor, which is why I am committed to helping the student organize his work with the help, for example, of a schedule. Dialogue and listening between student and teacher are essential to progress in learning this superb instrument. ABOUT A second-year student at the Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance, Selma is an accordionist. In 2018, she won first prize in the National Accordion Trophy in the under-16 category, and in 2021, first prize in the National Union of Accordionists of France competition in the Espoir category. For the 2024 season of the National Jazz Orchestra, she was selected to join the accordion section of the Youth Orchestra. His polyphonic instrument gives him access to a vast artistic universe, ranging from world music to classical music, including theater and singing. If his approaches to the stage are varied (opera, cabaret, concert, street show, chamber music, performance, film music, filming, etc.) they have allowed him to perform on stages such as the Arab World Institute, the Loire Festival, in several schools and theaters in Europe, or even on the sets of the Luc Besson film studios (for Daryl Dixon, spin-off of the series The Walking Dead).

We will start from the texts and themes of the program in question (high school program or courses taken at the university). From there, it will be a question of developing a deep and conceptually rigorous reading capacity of the text. This work will be done together between the student and the professor, trying to identify the key points through dialogue - issues, thesis, argumentative path, etc. - the author in question. Following this, it is essential to move on to personal work where the student will be confronted with the writing and production of a philosophical thought. This precise exercise will obviously depend on the time that the student will want to invest in the course as well as his strengths and what he needs to improve. It will therefore be a question of writing short introductions of text or essay commentary, short dialogues, detailed plans, short essays, etc. I am in fact convinced that philosophy, like any other skill, is also and above all learned through concrete practice and confrontation with specific exercises. I hope that through this methodology we will reach the precise objectives that the student sets out for himself, by means of a living philosophy and active teaching. The method is obviously open to change, which means that the main driving force of the whole course will be the dialogue and continuous exchange between the student and the teacher. Only in this way, I hope, we really learn to philosophize and we can therefore understand what philosophy is about.
