Courses of Oriental Percussion (Darbuka - Riq) & Oud
From 75 C$ /h
Technique & Hand Coordination: Building correct posture, ergonomic hand movements, and effortless execution. Sight Reading: Reading and interpreting musical notation accurately to expand your repertoire.
Improvisation: Unlocking your creative voice, building confidence, and mastering live phrasing for solo or ensemble playing
Rooted in decades of professional stage and studio experience, my lessons provide deep knowledge of the instrument alongside a specialized focus on Oriental and Arabic grooves, intricate rhythmic patterns, and their direct connection to the authentic Middle Eastern repertoire. You will learn to read and interpret musical notation accurately through sight reading, while also mastering phrasing and improvisation to unlock your unique creative voice in both solo and ensemble settings. Beyond technical precision, I guide students in developing a personal connection with the instrument—learning how to react naturally to its dynamics and using practice as a form of mindfulness and meditation. Join me to build complete technical mastery, expressive freedom, and a profound musical foundation. Would you like to tailor any specific section further, or shall we focus on the "Extra information for the student" section next?
