With over 15 years of teaching experience and a strong background as a concert pianist and composer, I am currently finishing my Master’s degree in Composition at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp . I combine classical training with contemporary and experimental music practices.

My piano lessons focus not only on technique, but on developing musical thinking and individuality. In composition, I help students explore both traditional structures and modern approaches, including sound-based composition, timbre, and texture.

I also work with students interested in sound art, electronic music, or creative listening.

Each lesson is tailored to the student — whether you want to start from zero, improve your skills, or develop your own artistic direction.

About Me

I am a dedicated piano, composition, and music theory teacher with more than 15 years of experience working with both children and adults. My teaching approach is flexible: I adapt to the student’s level, goals, and personality. With beginners, I focus on building a solid technical and musical foundation in a motivating and supportive atmosphere. With advanced students, I explore interpretation, creativity, and deeper understanding of musical structure.
I believe that learning music should combine discipline and joy. Whether preparing for exams, competitions, or simply playing for pleasure, I help students discover their own musical voice while developing strong skills in piano playing, music theory, and composition.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

I am Natalia, a pianist, composer, and music teacher. Music plays a central role in my life and forms the basis of everything I do: playing, creating, and teaching.

At the piano, I constantly discover and develop new musical ideas. Composing music is a natural way for me to express feelings, atmosphere, and stories. Sometimes a composition originates from a small motif or a simple melody that slowly develops into a complete piece of music. My inspiration comes from various sources: life, emotions, nature, films, stories, and moments of silence in which music can arise spontaneously.

My music moves between various styles, with a strong emphasis on melody, atmosphere, and emotion. The foundation often lies in the piano sound, but the musical language I use can contain classical influences as well as modern, cinematic, or popular elements. I love music that evokes images and tells a story, as if the listener can feel a scene or a world simply by listening.

In addition to composing, I also share my musical experience as a music teacher. In my piano lessons, I want to teach students not only how to play notes, but also how to understand, interpret, and experience music. For me, learning music is a process in which technique, listening, creativity, and expression come together. Therefore, in my lessons, I pay attention to musicality, interpretation, and developing a personal musical voice.

My experience as a composer also influences my teaching style. I help students not only to perform music, but also to understand how music is structured and how a melody, harmony, or rhythm is created. In this way, they not only learn to play the piano but also develop deeper musical insight and creativity.

I offer piano lessons in English, French or Italian for students of all ages and levels. Lessons focus on developing technique, musical understanding, listening skills, and artistic expression.

My teaching is grounded in the Faber Piano Adventures method and enriched with creative activities such as improvisation, four-hand duets, and simple composition exercises. Just ti say a little about myself, before arriving in Belgium I did my Composition Bachelor in Switzerland, at the Bern Academy of the Arts, with Simon Steen-Andersen, and I also studied Violin in Milan, my home town.

My name is Marta, and I'm from Galicia (Spain). I completed my piano Bachelor and postgraduate studies in the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country, and I'm pursuing now a Master's degree in the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.

During 10 years I've been teaching private lessons and working in Music Schools facilitating and guiding very different learning processes: from introducing young children to music and the piano through play or teaching basic harmony for song accompaniment, to supporting more experienced and dedicated students preparing official examinations.
