About Me

Hello! I am a nationally-accredited Japanese to English translator who has tutored Japanese to enthusiastic students for over 10 years. I lived and worked in Japan for 6 years in Japanese-speaking work environments, but am currently taking a long break from Japan to focus on freelance translation.

When I am not translating Japanese, Spanish or Chinese, I enjoy playing the taiko drum (I trained for two years in Japan!), doing karaoke, playing video games and travelling overseas. My favourite video game is Ace Attorney and my next planned travel destinations are Japan and Belgium.

I have 19 years as a professor at Mexican university and right now I'm living in Brussels.
I have a PhD. in education and for me it's essential to have dynamic classes that approach with the real life and communicative cases in order to improve the level of the language; the learning process is essential to do in different ways in order to find out which type of learner is the student.
I'm very passionate and disciplinate about my teaching, trying also to use the TIC's as tool to support the knowledge received.
I try always to be updated as a professor with new technologies, new materials and new techniques in order to give and provide the best class as possible.

Having started Japanese in secondary school, I know well the difficulties of this language. After defining the goals to be achieved with the student, I will organize my work around it.

We will be able to practice writing and learn to write while learning vocabulary in a fun way using various media. We will also have the opportunity to practice reading based, for example, on manga in original version or on articles or anything else revolving around the interests of the student. In addition, we will do some sort of role play in order to be able to practice the oral.

The ultimate goal is to do everything playfully to learn while having fun.

This class is open to everyone who wants to study Japanese (speaking, listening, writing, and reading).

The content of this class depends on what you want to learn from the class and will be considered to your needs.

I studied sculpture as a bachelor's and New Media as a master's at Tokyo University of the Arts. Now currently working as a freelance artist and doing a master of dance / choreography in P.A.R.T.S. at Brussels.

In my Japanese lessons you can also make a pronunciation by learning Japanese songs. There I can also help with professional Japanese (emails, short exchanges, etc.) and/or help you prepare for an exchange.
