I have a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine obtained at the School of Molecular Medicine in Milan. I did a postdoc at UCSF in San Francisco and a postdoc at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I will train you 1) to understand complicated concepts in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology 2) to write papers/thesis 3) to understand and discuss scientific papers 4) to prepare for your exams

I first evaluate the level of the student and their strengths and how they best learn. I tailor my course around this and make a plan of how to help them. In addition I help with making study plans to review for exams.

I graduated as a molecular biologist 20 years ago. Since then I have been making films in which I simplify complex biological concepts. I'm a big fan of biology and I think it would be fun to help you get a better grip on the matter. We'll start by looking at cells under a microscope. What do they look like? How do they function? Then we'll dive into the structure of DNA and how it acts like an instruction manual, containing all the information needed to build an organism. We'll learn how DNA is copied and passed on to new cells during cell division.

Next up is RNA, which helps transmit genetic information from DNA and assists in building proteins. Proteins do most of the work in cells and make up much of your hair, skin, muscles and organs. We'll see how mutations in DNA can lead to changes in proteins, affecting how an organism looks and functions.

This introductory class will give you an overview of the fundamental concepts of molecular biology. Get ready to explore the nanoscale world that makes life possible! I have several years of experience in the field of research, specifically in biomolecular biology. I am deeply passionate about science and I enjoy transmitting this knowledge to younger students who are curious to get more insight or better understand the mechanisms of life.

In my lesson, I can help you to understand the most basic biological mechanism that regulates the cell cycle and provide more in-depth information regarding cancer and immunology, my field of specialization. My aim is not only to make biology easy but provide also support for writing a thesis, preparing a presentation, understanding how to properly structure a project, and acquiring the ability to interpret and discuss big data.
