Piano lessons with experienced teacher - graduated Pianist.

My teaching method developed during 20 years of experience and thanks to my studies of Music Pedagogy and Piano Teaching during my Master's in Piano at Livorno's Conservatory.
I am currently a piano teacher in a British School and I prepared several students for ABRSM and Trinity College exams.
As a private piano teacher, I work preferably in my studio, on a beautiful grand piano Yamaha, but, if not too far, I am also available for lessons at the student's house.
My teaching is adapted to the skills and goals of each student. With beginning children, I aim at full musical development of the student (not just playing notes, but feeling the rhythm, singing, and expressing emotions through free improvisation); technically I don't work only at the finger position, but at the organic interaction arm-wrist-fingers, through simple exercises.
With adult or advanced students, I observe them, to suggest which type of repertory to work together, and which aspects of the technique might still need improvement.
I teach classically, through the learning of notes, harmony, and written music, but I teach also how to play songs with only chord symbols, and blues improvisation at a basic level.
Both with children and adults I aim at creating a joyful experience during the lesson, in which focus is gained in a playful way, finding each time the best practicing solutions to technical and musical difficulties. In this way, practicing at home becomes not another heavy duty to add to an already busy schedule, but repeating a creative, searching experience, that is never the same.
Books: the use of a method is often suggested in the first years. Later I advice classical pieces to be studied. Also, Pop or Rock songs that the student would like to perform are well accepted, if I think the student can afford them.

About Me
I was born in Faenza, in Italy, and loved classical music since my childhood. After graduating in Piano at Rovigo's Conservatory in 1998, I also did Chamber Music studies, graduating at the prestigious Imola's Accademia Pianistica. Later I discovered historically informed practice and historical instruments. This became a great passion and I decided to come to The Netherlands to study Fortepiano in the class of Bart van Oort at the Koninklijke Conservatorium of Den Haag. During many years of concert activity and the release of a cd (Schumann played on a Viennese fortepiano), I always kept teaching to students of any level, with great joy and pleasure. My biggest joy is to see how music (played or listened to) changes people's state of mind, and ultimately, their lives in better. So, my aim and devotion as a teacher is to make music accessible to everybody.
I love also nature, animals and singing, and many other things.
