In my lessons we can work on various styles from pop and jazz to classical. We will work on building technique, music reading, playing from chord symbols, improvising and playing by ear. The joy of playing the piano, and making music together are core values in my lessons. We can think of the goals together, and the lessons are always tailored individually to match the students level wishes. I'm primarily teaching adults and teenagers (from approx. 15 years on). All levels are welcome from total beginners to advanced players!

In addition to piano lessons, I also offer lessons on music composition and theory.

I have nearly 10 years of experience on teaching, and a master's degree on jazz piano performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Experience / Qualifications

Ida (b. 1994) is a pianist and composer from Helsinki, Finland. She is currently based in Amsterdam, working on a variety or artistic projects. Ida Trio’s debut album Awake Asleep was released in October 2023 on the Norwegian label AMP Music & Records. This strong debut was met with a positive response and immediate interest in both the Finnish and European jazz scenes. Ida finds inspiration for her work from visual arts, nature, and observations life. Her music alternates effortlessly between carefully orchestrated compositions and the freedom of improvisation. As a pianist, Ida has an exceptional sensitivity to melody and simplistic beauty, and strong melodies often have a central role in her work. Her compositions are filled with colorful details and a rich harmonic palette, with an evident influence of a wide variety of music styles, such as minimalism, modern classical composers, and folk music. Ida holds a Masters degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Ida has previously studied at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Pop & Jazz Conservatory in Helsinki. Her work has been supported with various prestigious arts grants.

From 8 to 80, everyone can learn to play the piano. Teaching with pop music and all kinds of styles between jazz and classical music. Individual lessons of an hour or half an hour. The intention is that a pupil also learns to study and gain insight into the musical structures (simple).

I am a bassoonist and composer from Australia who is available to tutor in Amsterdam. I teach not only the ordinary modern bassoon but also historical performance, whether that would be on period instruments or otherwise. I am also available to tutor music theory and composition for all levels.

I have won prizes in both bassoon and composition, including the Royal Schools Music Club Anniversary Scholarship, the Bendat Family Foundation Composition Scholarship, the Royal Over-Seas League Arts Travel Scholarship, and the Catholic Arts Chapman Scholarship.

I have also been part of a variety of ensembles, including the MAPLE wind quintet, Tura New Music's Breaking Out Ensemble, and orchestras in Australia. I have had the incredible opportunity to write and arrange for many ensembles with very different instrumental combinations such as Piñata Percussion, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of St George's College, and Trinity College, Perth.

As a teacher, I strive to develop students to become inspired by music and to always seek a deeper understanding and appreciate of music. I am open to teaching any student so long as they can hold an instrument comfortably!

Gosse (1989) has been giving piano lessons for more than 10 years and we are proud to announce that almost all students who start the lessons actually continue. The lessons are primarily focused on fun and development.
He knows from experience that the most important ingredients for learning to play the piano as effectively as possible are:

1: The pleasure of playing
The fun is increased by learning to play numbers that the student experiences as beautiful or fun and that bring the right degree of challenge. Gosse mainly specializes in Pop, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Bossa-nova, Latin and Light classical styles. Learn to play your favorite songs!

2: Learning in the way that best suits the student
There are three different ways in which someone can learn to play the piano: sheet music, by ear and (the relatively new way) through software programs such as Synthesia. The correct method differs from person to person.

3: Knowing the music theory / shortcuts
The three ways you can learn to play the piano described above help you press the right keys at the right time. But it can be easier. Namely by knowing the underlying music theory and / or the shortcuts!

Gosse also teaches music production (songwriting and producing). He is most specialized in the Logic Pro and Ableton studio programs. He also helps vocalists who want to accompany themselves on the piano.

Private lessons for beginners to advanced level of violin playing. All ages are welcome. I am a professionally trained teacher and violinist for almost two decades. My lessons are given in English, Spanish and (basic) Dutch.

My teaching method is variable depending on the students' needs, but the goal is shared: to make a great musician and qualified violinist out of the pupil. I work on both technical and musical aspects from a (very) consciously prepared healthy and enjoyable perspective. Particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones!

I pay special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of my students. I also give some additional tools applicable to the violin playing which includes: Introduction to Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Body & Mind. All the basic theory is taught too.

Occasionally, there are student concerts and collaborations with other teachers. (These may include some teachers from the Sweelinck Academy or the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and more).

From among the required tools for my lessons are: a violin and a bow, score and books purchases when necessary, and, from time to time, meetings with the parents. On occasion, I use digital tools like phone/tablet apps.

I can teach in various places near or in the center of Amsterdam, or, depending on the need, I can move to pretty much wherever in The Netherlands.

About the homework, I send it to the students on a weekly basis and encourage them to participate on competitions and summer music courses. As always, this is conditional on the pupil's stage.

Hello!

I am a professional recorder and flute player with a passion for both early and contemporary music, offering lessons on the recorder, flute, piano, and music theory in the Amsterdam area and online.

I graduated with a Masters in recorder at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Cum Laude, with a scholarship from The Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Previously, I graduated from the Royal College of Music London with a First-Class Joint Honours Bachelor’s degree in Flute and Recorder. In 2021 I was a finalist for the Moeck/SRP recorder competition as part of the London Early Music Festival.

I am an encouraging and dedicated teacher who believes that effective practice, rather than talent, is at the heart of any musical development. I share my expertise in how to practice well, varying your approach to make different connections rather than just repeating things - this also helps to keep practice interesting! I am also keen to help each student find their own voice and expression through music, tailoring lessons to each student's needs and goals.

I have specialist knowledge of medieval, renaissance, and baroque music, and can help students to develop skills in historical performance and ornamentation/improvisation.

Private lessons from a very experienced bassist with over 10 years of experience performing internationally and more than 5 years as a teacher. The lessons are for all levels, it is not necessary to have previous experience. In the lessons, we'll learn the instrument and musical theory but the main focus is to play and have fun doing so. Hi, I'm Aliaksandra! I'm originally from Belarus and recently completed my Master's degree in classical cello and piano. I'm 25 years old, living in Amsterdam, and have been playing both cello and piano since I was 8.
After more than 15 years of studying and performing music, I've come to realize how much I enjoy sharing my passion and knowledge with others.I currently teach at Leerorkest Music School in Amsterdam and also offer private lessons.
I teach both piano and cello to students of all ages and levels—whether you're a complete beginner or more advanced. Lessons can take place at my home (in the centre of Amsterdam) or yours.
