About Me

When I was about eight years old I started playing the guitar. Thanks to my first teacher I got to know all kinds of music. I also started playing in bands with friends, some of which I still play today.
For a while I have performed quite a lot in different bands, and have built up a repertoire for the classical guitar (solo, duo and in groups).
When teaching I use different methods to see what suits a student.
Sometimes a student plays something, and I think we didn't do that last week, did we?
Then they have found something themselves (eg Nirvana is still popular!) And let me know. I always like that. Be sure to look for things yourself, buy a book, or search for something on the internet, play with the school band.

Education

After years of private lessons, I went to the preparatory course of the Conservatory (Amsterdam, Sweelinck). After that I also studied classical guitar for three years.

The Bass guitar lessons are given at all levels from beginners to advanced / professionals. You learn how to play the instrument, with the right attitude and the right technical and theoretical underpinning of everything you want to learn. A somewhat broader music theoretical knowledge can also be taught. Customization is provided to the student's wishes.

The music theory lessons provide insight into how western music theory functions and how it is applied in practice. Exercises are also done to develop the hearing and music theoretical exercises are done on the basis of either piano, guitar or bass guitar. The aim is to understand what the theory behind music is and why it functions that way.

The Guitar (or Piano) lessons are only given at beginners level. The basic skills of the instrument are taught and an insight is also given into simple music theoretical issues with which the student can benefit from these acquired insights until a much more advanced stage and make faster progress on his/her instrument.

I completed my conservatory training in Jazz Singing at the CvA, but I have worked in many other genres in recent years. I also studied guitar at the Conservatory and obtained my propaedeutic diploma there, after which I switched to singing at the Conservatory. .

In class we focus on what you want. I can teach you everything about singing, guitar, but also about music theory, song-writing, and playing other instruments such as bass guitar, piano and drums.
I teach everyone, from beginners to people who want to prepare for the entrance exam to the Conservatory.

I have 12 years of experience in performing and have performed with the Metropool Orchestra, played at festivals such as Concert at Sea and performed in hundreds of theaters and stages across the country. I also have experience with recording albums and songwriting.
