About Me

My name is Daniel and I am professional bass player, composer and teacher living in Amsterdam. I am active in the Dutch and German Jazz scene as well as playing concerts and tours in Europe. Recently I received a bachelor of music from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and had many private lessons with NY bass players including Larry Grenadier, Matt Brewer and Matt Penman. Over the years I have played international festivals such as Panama Jazz festival, North Sea Jazz fest, Umbria Jazz Italy and others.

1: The pleasure of playing

There are three different ways in which someone can learn to play the piano: sheet music, by ear and (the relatively new way) through software programs such as Synthesia. The correct method differs from person to person.

3: Knowing the music theory / shortcuts
The three ways you can learn to play the piano described above help you press the right keys at the right time. But it can be easier. Namely by knowing the underlying music theory and / or the shortcuts!

Gosse also teaches music production (songwriting and producing). He is most specialized in the Logic Pro and Ableton studio programs. He also helps vocalists who want to accompany themselves on the piano.

Hey there! In my lessons, what you want is the most important. That's why we create together a plan of study with ideas, goals and subjects to reach out our dream to make music (that's also my dream)

Nevertheless, I can give you an overview of the content:

I divide the music theory in two: Technical and Musical.
Technical Theory regarding all the concepts and information related to music, and Musical Theory regarding the ideas and concepts to help us understand and improve the performance of music. Besides that, we look to harmony in a functional, rhythmical and organic way. We learn and approach music from the first lesson, looking at it from different angles (understanding rhythm and essence of a song for example). All this plus a nice diet of assignments and exercises: D

Furthermore, we put especial attention to enjoying music. That means playing but also listening music! For me, that's one of the best ways to learn :)

And of course, we learn as well by making mistakes, so at the end it's all about fun and trying things out;)

My name is Enrique and I come from Andalucía, Spain. I am a Classical Piano student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and I would be pleased to be your teacher.
