About Me

I am kind and curious and i love to share this with my students. I fluently speak English, Spanish and of course... Italian. I'm born and raised in a little town in the center of italy, but i've always travelled around the globe, meeting new people and cultures. I'm already excited to welcome you!

Education

Studied classical piano from the age of 7 to the age of 17, when he began playing bass after being interested in modern and improvised music. After winning “Premio Giusti” scholarship at Arcevia Jazz Feast in summer 2014, and touring Italy with the workshop band, he is admitted to the Bachelor Program in Siena Jazz. In Siena he has the chance to study with Daniele Camarda, Stefano Battaglia, Mark Guiliana, Matt Penmann, Gerald Clayton and many more. He spent the last semester in Barcelona with the Erasmus program perfecting with Gary Willis, composing and performing with his own trio. Back to Italy he’s playing with many young jazz and modern projects such like Cocoon, Lilac For People, Aka, Vieri. In February 2018 graduated in Siena Jazz Bachelor Program with highest grade. He’s currently enrolled in the Master program at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam

In the last few years i've performed in some of the best European clubs like: Jamboree (Barcelona), Ferrara Jazz Club (Ferrara), UnTubo (Siena), Filloa Jazz Club (Coruña, Spain), Eastside Jazz Club (Birmingham), Vouglar Jazz Club (Munich) and more. As well as great festivals like: Cheltenham Jazz Festival (Cheltenham, England), Festival Acquedotte (Cremona), A Jazz Supreme Festival (Firenze), Siena Jazz (Siena), Fara Music Fest (Rome), Valbadia Jazz Festival, and more.

Hi, I'm Philip!
I'm a professional Bass player and teacher based in Amsterdam.
I have studied with some of the best teachers in Europe as well as famous bassists from the New York Jazz Scene. Besides my studies I have been actively performing, recording and teaching since age 16, which led me to play at different festivals and venues such as North Sea Jazz, JazzOpen Stuttgart, Bimhuis, DeDoelen Rotterdam.
I'm calm and easy going and I want to pass on the knowledge I got from my teachers as well as my own experience. I always focus on getting you ready or better at playing in a band, since that's what we do as bass players! I'm experienced in and open to a wide variety of styles, my specialization being Jazz.

With almost 20 years of experience in the low tones world I can guide you in the study of electric bass and double bass.

Bass guitar lessons in Amsterdam or Online! During the lessons, special attention is paid to timing, teamwork and technique. Many different music styles are discussed and hearing training and music theory are also discussed, and of course there is room for your own questions. Lessons for all ages from 5 years, for beginners but also for advanced players or adults who want to start with this fantastic instrument at a later age.

About me:
I hold both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Jazz Double Bass from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
I regularly perform live with various projects in prestigious venues and jazz clubs, and I have recorded bass on 15 albums, (jazz and pop), on both double bass and electric bass.

I have years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
I also worked with the organization Memo, performing interactive shows in kindergartens.

About my lesson lessons:

After a first lesson, I propose a study plan according to your level, your objectives and your interests.
The main topics will be:
- repertoire (the music You want to play)
- technique and knowledge of the fingerboard
- ear training and basic harmonic knowledge

My name is Shak. I am 21 years old and currently studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. I've been playing different instruments for as long as I can remember and I've mainly started to focus on bass guitar. I also play in several bands and I have a lot of experience with the instrument on stage or in the studio. I also know a lot about everything that has to do with theory, so I make a lesson plan that is completely tailored to what you want to do!

Hello

I'm a professional bass player living in Amsterdam. I have a passion for teaching and passing on some of the knowledge that I have acquired during my studies at several schools and heard from the musicians I look up to. I've done my bachelor degree at The Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, and I finished my Masters at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2024.

I teach double bass, electric bass and composition.

Musically I try to be as open as I can. For me it doesn't matter if it's free jazz, traditional jazz, pop or metal as long as it feels good.

I'm a leader of my own group where we combine jazz and indie rock. we will release our debut album this fall.

I'm also a sideman in several groups.

As for composition I have experience with composing for regular jazz groups, big band, string quartet and irregular constellations such as my band with three guitars and three horns.

Some thoughts about teaching:

I believe that the most important thing when teaching is having a good relation to one another and generally just having a good time. If we don't enjoy the process we don't learn.
You should feel comfortable saying how you feel and what you want to learn/don't want to learn. With that transparency I will be able to customize the teaching and balance the curriculum so that I meet your needs while pushing you into unknown territory.

My name is Ignacio Pintó and I am a Spanish bass player living in Amsterdam. I moved to this lovely city four years ago to study the Jazz Double Bass Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I am in love with music, my main occupation right now is working in projects that excite me deeply, trying to bring new sounds to the world through composition and improvisation.

I love sharing this excitement and knowledge with people. That's the reason why I have developed a flexible system to organise music development, based on my recent experience. In the lessons we will focus on the music you love and find ways to develop the skills it requires in a methodic way, always having fun in the process. We will also playfully explore creativity and improvisation, my ultimate goal is finding your voice as a musician and helping you develop it!

Although double bass is my main instrument now, my first steps as a musician were given with bass guitar. I also have experience teaching that instrument and I feel equally capable of helping you develop those skills.

You can expect an personalised program, with prepared lessons based essentially in your musical interests and goals, potentially covering these topics among others: double bass technique, bowing, electric bass technique, jazz repertoire, ear training, music theory, improv techniques, rhythm, composition, basic production skills, basic piano skills.

If interested, next to the bass lessons I could also arrange ensemble lessons connecting you with fellow musicians of similar interests and skill level.

My name is Olivér, I’m 22 years old, and I make music! I believe anyone can play, and if we practice well it can add playfulness to our lives. Teaching songs you don't really like is a no-go for me. I'll help you figure out which 'classics' are there to practice on and I'll give advice about technique and timing etc.. Also, if you're really curious, I can teach you some music theory. My general goal is to get you hooked to playing. When bored, grab your guitar, not your phone!
