About Me
I followed the bachelor's degree of Special Needs Education in the Open University of Sri Lanka. There I learned about educational technology for special needs students, the values of primary education, child rights and educational management. I also possess knowledge on how to adapt my school curriculum in an inclusive classroom. I also did many teaching practice sessions to develop my own teaching methodologies. I attained the DETE at the University of Colombo. Here I was educated on more advanced English reading, writing, speech, listening and literature concepts. I followed CPTE at the Institute of Western Music and Speech, in which I further sharpened my language skills. I also followed AMI at the Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Center, Sri Lanka, where I gained the practice and principles of the Montessori method for children.
I was a primary teacher in Colombo International school-Srilanka(CIS), in Good Shepherd Montessori House of children(as an AMI Montessori Teacher), and also Sunflower International Primary School as a Montessori Teacher.
Teaching is a very demanding profession, and as per my experience, I see my students succeed and gain positive results regularly. It is no secret that I'm greatly driven by their hard work and achievements. Sometimes I have come across children who are uninterested and very distracted in a learning environment but I as an educator use versatile educational strategies to encourage the hidden talents of students.

As a passionate and versatile primary school teacher with an impactful 13-year journey in education, I wholeheartedly believe in the potential and innate talents of every child. My adventure began in Sri Lanka and led me to the Netherlands in 2018, where I've continued my mission of finding innovative ways to work with children. Currently, I'm teaching as a Montessori educator, specialising in the care and education of children aged three to six years.

I have experience in educating children in different roles as a Montessori guide, a primary school teacher, a private tutor catering to individual children's needs, and a qualified special needs teacher. These different roles have sharpened my skills and improved my ability to cater to each child's individual needs.

In addition to my experience as an educator, I also have conducted private music lessons in piano and organ for children between the ages of 3 and 10. With a gentle and patient approach tailored to each child's unique needs and age, I introduce them to the enchanting world of music. These private lessons offer young learners the opportunity to discover their creativity and the joy of playing and listening to musical instruments.

In my English language classes, I focus on enhancing the vocabulary, reading, writing skills, and grammar. But here's where it gets exciting: I also bring the flair of a qualified speech and drama teacher into my teaching strategies. This dynamic approach infuses creativity, expression, and interactivity into the language-learning process.

If you're looking for a teacher, you've found a fun, active, and incredibly patient one. I tailor my English lessons using programs to suit the levels and requirements of each child. My goal is to make learning a joyous adventure, ensuring that they not only excel in English but also develop essential speaking skills and confidence. Together, we'll embark on a journey of growth and learning that caters to the unique potential of your child.

As a dedicated primary school teacher with more than a decade of experience, I'm all about making learning an adventure for children. I wholeheartedly believe that every child is a little genius in the making, and I'm here to help them shine and communicate fluently in a world-wide language.

My teaching mission? Boosting those English skills! We're diving into the exciting world of vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and grammar. But here's the twist: I'm not your typical English teacher. I'm also a certified speech and drama educator. So, we're not just learning; we're acting it out, playing with words, and having a wonderful learning experience along the way.

To add to that, I also have good experience in tutoring expat families. I get that moving to a new country can be a whirlwind, especially for the little ones. But with my guidance, your child will not only have a good command of English but also increase in confidence in their communication skills.

So, let's make learning English a fun and fantastic journey for your child. Whether it is through books, games, or a little bit of drama, I'm here to ignite their passion for the language and help them become adept in expressing themselves.
