Salām! I'm Sona—a Dari/Farsi/Persian language instructor with a passion for Dari-Farsi culture and daily phrases, curious learners, and making class feel like a cultural adventure. Whether you're tracing your roots or just love the rhythm of Persian poetry, I’ll guide you through the twists of the alphabet and the heart behind the language.
Education
I hold a Bachelor of Laws and Political Science (Administration and Diplomacy Department) with a focus on project management professional with Project Management Institute (PMI).
Experience / Qualifications
My journey as a Dari/Farsi language teacher began in childhood—sharing stories, songs, and lessons with neighbors and younger relatives in my community. Language has always been my way of connecting, and over the years, I’ve developed and led structured Dari language courses for learners of all ages. From informal lessons under the apricot tree to organized classes in the Netherlands, teaching has never been just a skill—it’s my way of sharing culture, confidence, and belonging.

I do this by having conversations with the child but also with the parents. I will make a plan based on what the circumstances are. From that you will see how much time I need. But you can also schedule me for individual hours of course. What I want to work on is the awareness of the child. Who is the child, what is school, what is friends, what are limits, what do our parents mean, what will come and what will go. What will benefit and what will not, etc. I first want an introductory meeting with the parents so that the parents first get to know me and I them. Who I am and what I can do. I have a background in healthcare and welfare, but there I learned a fraction of what I can apply to the young people who need help. Everything I apply comes from my own experience and experiences of people in my environment. Furthermore, words are not enough, but there is a very good chance that I can do something for your child. I did not learn it from a book, I will be very honest about it right away. But there is someone who has studied from books for years. The knowledge that I have about human psychology can not only be read through but lived.
