Since this year, I have been providing face-to-face private lessons at home and also via video conferencing, a mode of teaching that I have practiced with university students for the past ten years.

My teaching environment has undergone significant changes, especially with the emergence of the Covid pandemic. This shift has led our secondary school students to adapt to the new mode of learning and communication, namely video conferencing. Despite the success of this transition, it is important to acknowledge that our younger students still require attention and a psycho-emotional connection in order to develop their autonomy peacefully.

Over the past two decades, I have implemented proven methodological approaches, some of which are borrowed from theater techniques, such as the Davis method (mind mappings/colors), and my specialty, professional coaching, which aims to enhance your child's motivation. My main goal is to foster agility in your child across all subjects, not only for the present but also for their future when I will no longer be by their side.

Ultimately, my objective goes beyond simply focusing on gaining points in a subject. I firmly believe in this approach due to my experience as a Mental Coach working with young athletes between Nice and Cannes, as well as throughout Europe via video conferencing, as part of their preparation for the French Tennis Championships. It has reinforced my conviction that working on a subject should be a nurtured objective that encompasses personal growth and development.

As a Professor in General Education, specializing mainly in scientific subjects, I suggest supporting your child in gaining agility in constructing their academic path during this unique period that is filled with both opportunities and challenges.

SVT, or Science of Life and Earth (biology and geology), is a very specific scientific subject. It requires students to have both good scientific fundamentals (logic, rigour, depth of analysis), and an understanding of phenomena affecting the Earth, the human body and the planet. But it also requires an ability to reuse all of this within a well-written development, so a certain ease in argumentation!

Our home lessons allow support adapted to the student's objectives:

My lessons are incredibly flexible, and I structure the lesson around fixing my students' misconceptions. This includes teaching a new topic from scratch or focusing on specific areas of difficulty depending on my students’ requirements.

I begin by assessing how well a student's level of initial understanding is. From there, I teach the lesson by explaining concepts, drawing diagrams, and using PowerPoints I've created beforehand. If my student struggles to grasp a concept, I explain it again and correct their mistakes. Finally, we cover exam questions to help mark the level of progress. I will always provide very honest feedback and give my students optional homework tasks for their independent learning.

I often find many students struggle with exam techniques. This is a very common challenge, especially at A-Level, as these techniques are vital to successfully answering application questions. Therefore, regularly practicing these skills via past papers and practice questions together really helps them achieve their goals.
