Regularly rated 5 STARS on Google Page and a creator of a well-loved community of learner violinists, my name is Cheryl, and I offer highly unique and very enjoyable lessons to anyone who wants to challenge themselves with the violin. Do not be fooled - it's a tough instrument to play well! With my guidance and a special interest in postural health, you will quickly learn the basics with some regular effort. I especially encourage students to meet with other students in order to get to know each other on a human level. An alum of the ABRSM, Suzuki, American and European conservatory systems (Masters with Magna cum Laude), and relentlessly studying to become better and better every week, I filter through 'The Book' to find the most effective and efficient way for the individual learner. We will find out what sounds appeal to you, and teach your unique 'voice' to come out. With a little technique and a LOT of good taste, there's no knowing where your violin can take you! Come yourself, or with a friend or even with your child, and explore the infinite depths of real music-making! (Pssst: It's never really what we expect in the beginning!) If you search my name you will find my music which stylistically comes out of my years as a professional club DJ in New York City and Geneva more recently. As an instructor I work with students from beginner to advanced on guitar, electric bass, Ableton live, mixing and song production. I work to make lessons fun while teaching you the skills you need to play the music and songs you love. Additionally, I teach techniques that allow you to learn songs independently, while discussing the theory and mechanics of music in the context of the songs we're working on. With a deep knowledge of different musical styles that make people dance, I place particular emphasis on rhythm and using your ear, how you listen when you're playing music—how to recognize your emotional and physical experience when you're playing well. This can happen at any level. 🎶 Adjunct Professor of Electronic Music at Long Island University for four years, specializing in music software composition. 🎶 Guitar and bass teacher at Ecolint's Le Grand Boissière and GEMS Academy in Etoy. 🎶 DJ in New York and in Geneva, primarily for events organized by local Swiss art and music associations. 🎶Musical training in the professional music scene. 🎶Studied jazz improvisation and, at 20, became a member of a seven-piece band in NYC, whose album "The Sound of Konk" is considered an important document of that creative era. 🎶Music producer for the Children's Television Workshop (Sesame Street) and coach for the musical performances of the child actors. Had my first lesson with Cuihong and really enjoyed it. She helped me with basic pronunciation (so good help for a complete beginner like me) and taught me some interesting tidbits. She was also very quick and reliable to answer my mails through Apprentus, and is a friendly person. Looking forward to continuing lessons with her!

George was a delight. He is clearly very gifted but was prepared to share his knowledge at a very basic level because I am a beginner. He explained in one lesson so many fascinating things that I am really looking forward to my next lesson. He is clearly serious and motivated in what he does but warm and with a sense of humour

Celia is a wonderful teacher. Really passionate and this comes across very well. She is patient when teaching and helps you get a very deep understanding of the importance of starting with the basics and then building upwards from there.
