Some say that I have travelled here from Ancient Rome to help bring the Latin language back to life. "But", you say, "Latin is dead and has been for 1.5 millenia!" If that's what you think, let me change your mind! =) I offer classes for all levels and topics, including but not limited to: ◈ Latin for complete beginners taught through guided reading and discussion, with a minimum of translation. You will be using the language to learn the language from the beginning; ◈ Latin for those who have studied grammar, but still don't know the language itself; ◈ Latin for those ready to approach non-adapted literature; ◈ Latin for those who can already read, but want to learn to speak and use the language actively; ◈ Latin for those who want to understand poetry (from Virgil and Plautus right up to modern Latin poets) and quantitative metrics intuitively, in the same way as they were understood by the Romans themselves; ◈ Latin for researchers, historians and anyone working with Latin texts and primary sources or writing academic papers; ◈ Latin for linguists: I have deep theoretical and practical knowledge of the phonetics and phonology of Latin as well as Latin historical linguistics. ◈ Latin for those not ready to commit, but interested in learning the Reconstructed Classical Pronunciation. Or the traditional Italian (aka Ecclesiastical), or the Germanic-Slavic, or even the Middle French pronunciation - whatever takes your fancy :-) ◈ conversational Latin and composition practice. 💡 About me and my lessons: I've long been part of the international community of Latin speakers, have produced videos in Latin and resources for learning it, as well co-authoring a graded poetry reader "Erictho: Tartarorum Terror" aimed at students who wish to transition away from reading adapted texts and tackle authentic poetry without the help of dictionaries or translation. Thanks to my deep interest in phonetics and phonology, I have put major emphasis on researching, modelling and teaching the sounds and rhythms of Republican Latin speech in order to make Latin poetry and prose sound the way the authors intended. I teach Latin through Latin using the singular series "Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata" as well as various adapted and authentic texts. The goal of my lessons is simple: holistic acquisition of the language in order to allow you, the learner, to read Latin fluently, understand it at a deep level, and be able to communicate in it should the opportunity arise. I am an electronic music producer based in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands and I would love to teach you how to get started as a producer, songwriter, or further improve in your skills in these areas. I have over 5 years of experience producing and writing music, and I would be very happy to help with understanding your goals and tailor the class to your needs. My lessons are an opportunity to dive deep into the art of music creation. Whether you want to learn production techniques, sharpen your composition skills, or learn to write lyrics that speak to you as an artist, I’ll provide you with the tools and guidance to make it happen. In this class, I mainly work with Ableton Live. What I teach in this class is applicable to any other program you use, so don't worry if you don't use Ableton! I can hold lessons at my home or online. Let me know which you prefer!
