Mathematics involves the description and manipulation of abstract objects that consist of either abstractions from nature or—in modern mathematics—purely abstract entities that are stipulated to have certain properties, called axioms. Mathematics uses pure reason to prove properties of objects, a proof consisting of a succession of applications of deductive rules to already established results. These results include previously proved theorems, axioms, and—in case of abstraction from nature—some basic properties that are considered true starting points of the theory under consideration.[1] Mathematics is essential in the natural sciences, engineering, medicine, finance, computer science, and the social sciences. Although mathematics is extensively used for modeling phenomena, the fundamental truths of mathematics are independent of any scientific experimentation. Some areas of mathematics, such as statistics and game theory, are developed in close correlation with their applications and are often grouped under applied mathematics. Other areas are developed independently from any application (and are therefore called pure mathematics) but often later find practical applications.[2][3] Historically, the concept of a proof and its associated mathematical rigour first appeared in Greek mathematics, most notably in Euclid's Elements.[4] Since its beginning, mathematics was primarily divided into geometry and arithmetic (the manipulation of natural numbers and fractions), until the 16th and 17th centuries, when algebra[a] and infinitesimal calculus were introduced as new fields. Since then, the interaction between mathematical innovations and scientific discoveries has led to a correlated increase in the development of both.[5] At the end of the 19th century, the foundational crisis of mathematics led to the systematization of the axiomatic method,[6] which heralded a dramatic increase in the number of mathematical areas and their fields of application. The contemporary Mathematics Subject Classification lists more than sixty first-level areas of mathematics.

Her strategies and style helped me learn things I haven't been able to before - By Madison on 30th January 2022 Amalshi has been providing tutoring services for my daughter over 2021. We’ve found her to be an engaging tutor, with a compassionate manner. The services have increased the confidence of my daughter’s maths ability, and Amalshi’s passion for maths is evident. - By Emma on 11th November 2021 I am so thankful I came across Amalshi's Tutoring services on gumtree, Amalshi Is professional and patient and very experienced in Maths, several times I couldn't understand and wanted to give in, Amalshi kept pushing me as she believed I could do it, Amalshi changed her approach to suit me and found a way to make me understand, I am forever grateful for her help with my maths exam preparation. I would highly recommend Amalshi to anyone struggling with mathematics. - By Annette on 9th November 2021 We signed up our daughter, Cecilia, with Amalshi in order to brush up her understanding on the concepts of maths and chemistry prior to the ATAR exam. According to Cecilia, Amalshi possesses in depth knowledge on the subjects that she tutors. As Amalshi is currently furthering her studies in Data Science with high involvement in maths, she has aced in tutoring the said subject and her ability to cascade knowledge is top notch. Cecilia has only praised for Amalshi and she would highly recommend Amalshi to friends and students who would like to see improvements in both maths and chemistry. - By Cecilia Wong on 11th December 2021 Amalshi is a professional, reliable, and focused tutor. She made a valuable impact from the very first session and she was quickly able to make sense of some vital learning gaps. She was able to provide helpful explanations for several complex concepts and she was able to work through specific questions/problem areas within a limited time frame. Thank you Amalshi! - By Bronwen on 23rd November 2021

I love the process of teaching and learning alike, because I feel the same joy assisting someone to learn something, as if I had just learned something new and wonderful myself. For university level mechanical or related engineering students, I have over 3 years of official tutoring experience at the University of California, Davis, while studying Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. I enjoy helping you with Calculus, Differential Equations, Physics, and many more listed below: Differential, Integral, Vector, and Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Dynamics, Statics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Thermofluid Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, and Electrical Circuits and Systems. My tutoring philosophy consists of 3 core principles: - Positive feedback - Asking questions - Pen in your hand Positive feedback means that I will never become impatient with you, over-emphasize what you did wrong, make you feel bad for your mistakes, or make you feel stupid. Comfortably making lots of mistakes will help you learn better and retain your problem-solving process more easily. I will praise and congratulate you often for the concepts that you come to understand, and will point out that even if you don't reach the correct answer, there were many correct thinking-processes that you were using that deserve recognition. Asking questions means that I will never give you the answer directly, but rather confirm what you have right, and ask you targeted questions to help you think differently about the problems you are struggling with. I believe it is the most effective and most enjoyable way to learn something, when you manage to deduce some of the answers to your questions yourself. You will retain the concepts longer and it will better equip you to learn related topics in the future. Pen in your hand means that you will be the one driving the session. I want you to narrate your thoughts, decisions, and reasons for why you write down what you do. This will help understand the problem better by simply speaking it aloud, and it will help me better understand exactly what you do/don't understand.
