Hello! My name is Emily and I’m a professional singer and a passionate and experienced singing and piano teacher with 15 years of teaching experience to students of all ages and abilities. As a teacher, my main goal is to make your lessons fun, rewarding and enjoyable (as music making should be!) whilst supporting and encouraging you every step of the way in your development. In your singing lessons, we will work on building your technique and musicality, your repertoire in multiple genres as well as your confidence as a performer. I teach a solid classical based technique which can then be applied to multiple genres of music. As an accomplished pianist I will accompany you at the piano as you sing your chosen songs. (For online lessons I will find suitable backing tracks.) In your piano lessons, for beginners - I will determine the appropriate starting materials based on your age, innate ability, and level of understanding. For those who have already been learning and are looking to resume their studies, I will facilitate a seamless and supportive transition. I will work closely with you to gain a thorough understanding of your needs and ensure the most effective path forward. If you are interested in having both singing and piano lessons, you can have an hour lesson comprising of half singing and half piano. I have over 10 years of experience in preparing students for exam grades, and work with the ABRSM syllabus and the Trinity syllabus. My students have a 100% pass rate, with the majority achieving a Merit or Distinction. I look forward to hearing from you and making music with you!

Hi, I am Fausto. I am an Italian musician, trained in the classical guitar. I have been studying guitar since the age of fifteen at the conservatory in Sicily. I finished my degree at the BENEDETTO MARCELLO conservatory in Venice. I compose my own music in the classical style with the guitar. Within the genre of classical music I play, for example, Bach and Giuliani. As an electrical guitarist, I am used to playing with the fender sound, blues, and jazz. I offer lessons for people who would like a start in the guitar world. I enjoy teaching all ages and I am open to see what and how you would like to learn. We can learn the technical way or be more open with playing. For example with children, I am used to teaching with the book from the composer Sagreras. However, I am open if you'd like to improve in some song which you love!;) The music is my life, playing and learning new things is always what I'm looking up. I like teaching because having the possibility to give something really amazing to someone makes me happy and more real with myself. If someone loves playing and needs help, it would be amazing to be as helpful as people have been with me If you need some Italian lessons I am also Italian and I can offer Italian teaching as well. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford, I completed 2 Masters courses focusing on systematics, evolution and palaeontology at the Natural History Museums in London (course co-run by Imperial College) and Paris (course co-run by Sorbonne Université). I completed my pre-university education in France through the french baccalaureate, and thus have particular experience in entering UK higher education from abroad (I am also bilingual/dual native in French and English). As a passionate biology student I believe I have the tools necessary to help prospective students better express their potential throughout the admissions process. As I am new to tutoring I have a keen interest in tailoring my tutoring to the student's needs and preferences, and preparing assiduously for sessions. I have a real passion for music and that's why I would love to help inspire and guide new musicians on their quest to learn the violin. Age is irrelevant when it comes to my lessons but the most important thing is that the student comes with a real incentive to learn. Everyone's musical journey is different and many people decide to learn an instrument for a different reason. Therefore, the regular structure for a lesson would very much differ from person to person. For example, beginners would mostly focus on sight-reading, proper form and technique. However, someone with a slight musical background could begin by learning pieces that they want to play and I would guide them with how to encompass the piece better and make slight adjustments to their technique along the way. When it comes to young children, I've worked in nursery and primary schools with ages from 3-7. The most important thing is that they have fun during the lessons and gain a real respect for music early on. Technique, theory and sight-reading are still incredibly important but what's most important is that the child is having an enjoyable time while learning. I have a strong musical background as I've been playing violin and piano for 14 years, I also have a great understanding of music theory. I've performed in multiple concerts of sizes of up to 5000 attendees. I was also established enough to have achieved a full music scholarship to a performing arts secondary school and college. At GCSE I achieved an A* in music and I would be more than happy to help GCSE music students with their music theory and/or composition piece.
