During the tutoring sessions we can look for a way of learning and planning that works best for you, so that you can get started in the lessons and also have the tools to continue with this yourself afterwards. The most important thing is that you understand the material and can get started with confidence! I am 18 years old, just finished 6th grade and have experience tutoring different ages. I completed the Culture & Society profile with Greek and Latin and followed bilingual education and lessons according to the IB-English program. Areas I can help you with: Primary school: Students from any group are welcome for tutoring in all subjects/topics or to prepare for a (cito) test. I can practice with your child with the material taught at school, practice for CITO tests, explain what your child does not yet understand and improve the general skills required within a particular subject in a fun and educational way. Whether this is language, arithmetic or reading comprehension, I am happy to help your child understand it better and find pleasure in the subject that may still be difficult! In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. Trusted teacher: As a Cambridge University graduate in the Faculty of Education, I am delighted to have settled down in the Netherlands since September 2019. I started piano at the age of 5, and music has been an important part of my life ever since. Classically trained as a violinist, I picked up another instrument named Erhu (Chinese violin) and became a professional performer. I am experienced in teaching both children and adults, from different cultural backgrounds. Also, I have been actively involved in both Western and Chinese orchestra since high school. Thanks to my years of experience in being an orchestra member and soloist, I am also familiar with orchestral music. As a humble music therapist, I am passionate about music and believe in the power of music. I trust that music is in everybody and I respect every student's individuality and thus tailor my teaching methods to develop my students' full potential. I started teaching in 2009 and most students put their trust in me when they first decided to learn an instrument. I also enjoy exploring the world of music with students with learning disabilities. I am proud to say, my students, aged from 5 to 60, are enthusiastic in playing the instrument they have chosen and keen to improve their skills following my advice. I adopt a flexible approach in teaching - I believe every student is unique and my job is to develop the strengths and improve the weaknesses. I put a lot of emphasis on a solid foundation in my teaching. For young children, I tend to use a more interactive approach to explain complicated music theories, yet strict in the fundamentals such as posture and rhythm. Booked a private parkour lesson for my son during a visit to Amsterdam , Ludovic was very accommodating in making arrangements. Rory absolutely loved the session, which was adjusted really well to his level of experience. He came away hot and sweaty and wanting to stay longer. Lovely instructor, would definitely look him up is visiting Amsterdam again

I've taken two classes with Ilya on the topic of pop music and comping and plan on continuing with him. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. I came in with quite a lot of knowledge from my own study but he handily identified the areas I need to work on. I already got a lot out of those 2 lessons.

I worked with Francesca for improving my ancient Greek reading and I find the lessons useful and fun. She is flexible to different types of learning styles and has a structured way of tutoring. She prepares nice exercises and motivates me to achieve more in my self-study. I recommend Francesca!
