My lessons are friendly, relaxed and interactive. We start from the music you enjoy and build your skills step by step. In class we work on songs, chords, rhythm, technique and improvisation, always in a practical and musical way. Lessons are adapted to your level and goals, whether you are a beginner or already have some experience. My goal is simple: help you understand the piano, enjoy music and feel confident playing. Feel free to send me a message and tell me what music you love!

The rule is simple: don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself! Students are encouraged to try, fail, and overall be proactive in learning new information in bite-sized chunks: all of that in a warm and comforting environment. Depending on the personal goal of the student, we will learn/refine/explore the following topics: - Fundamental techniques of playing piano - How to read and play chords - How to play an improvised solo - How to change the underlying harmonies of a song to make it sound cooler (or weirder!) - Understanding how the musical elements are glued in a song, and if you dare, how to write one yourself - How to learn music or play music by ear - Exploring piano-looking-like instruments such as electric keyboards and subtractive synthesizers Languages: English (fluent), German (B1 and improving), Korean (native)

I provide fun and personalized piano lessons, by adapting lessons based on your proficiency(beginner, intermediate or advanced), age group, and goals (hobby and leisure, grade exams). For beginners, I start with the basics of the piano and begin with teaching Tutor books. Not only will you be playing songs and pieces in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of note-reading, music theory,sight-reading, technique, and more! My approach is to teach very thorough foundations so that my students are well prepared for exams and performances such as Trinity, ABRSM, School/ church performances Get in touch to start your lessons!

Being highly skilled in sight-reading, I have often realised how valuable and enjoyable it is to possess that “gift.” After more than ten years of teaching students of different levels and aspirations, I have observed a common thread: regardless of their goals, all were eager to improve their ability to read and interpret new, unfamiliar music. Currently, I am developing a multifaceted approach designed to help students understand a composition at first sight. This method combines specific pattern recognition and structural score-mapping, anchored in a fundamental understanding of rhythm, pitch, and harmony, together with highly effective practice and memorization strategies personalized to each student's needs and technical challenges. For over ten years, I have been teaching students of all ages and levels. In addition to regular lessons, I offer the opportunities to perform at the yearly class concert as well as dedicated preparation for ABRSM piano examinations. I'm a pianist with extensive performing experience on international stages and a first-prize winner of more than 30 international piano competitions across Europe and USA. I hold a Master's degree and four Postgraduate degrees (piano and chamber music) from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.

Hello! My name is Jade. I’m an undergraduate student and have been playing the piano for 15 years; I graduated from the Geneva Conservatory. In my lessons, I focus on practice and improving technique. Although I have prepared lessons and pieces, I give my students a great deal of freedom in choosing their sheet music, the intensity of their lessons, and the type of instruction they need. I see the piano as a passion and, above all, an art form which, as such, shouldn’t become a source of stress or frustration. We’ll make progress through small successes and can explore a variety of genres, from classical music to songs, pop, and even film scores. My priorities are for students to learn the notes and develop the ability to read sheet music easily, as well as rhythm and interpretation. We can complement this approach with training in musical ear and singing, as well as the basics of music analysis. I’d be happy to welcome you to my studio in De Pijp or can come to your home. I look forward to meeting you!
