Trusted teacher: Understanding music theory is essential when becoming a musician of any kind, as it deepens one's knowledge of how exactly music works. The more one knows about it, the better they can listen to, perform and write music. In the rich history of the subject, a clear narrative of evolution can be found that shows how music has arrived at the stage it is at today, all of which can be seen in the application of music theory and how it has changed over time. This is my biggest passion, and I would love to share my knowledge with any beginners wanting to develop/strengthen their musical competency or intermediates who want to focus on a specific aspect of classical or jazz and really understand how it works. As an introduction to myself: I have studied music theory and composition for a few years in various countries at various institutions (private lessons in Düsseldorf, briefly at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and currently at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna), and have had experience in tutoring/teaching since I tutored math, history, and biology in school to friends of mine. I like to think my ability to teach comes from my parents, who are both teachers and whose passion for helping others learn definitely influenced me! I have experience with teaching children, where I helped many younger students with playing music when I was in high-school, meaning I know how to make learning a fun process for just about anyone. Music and teaching are two of my biggest passions, and I have been told that is quite noticeable simply upon meeting me, as my enthusiasm is very contagious. I guarantee that every student will receive their very own lesson plan catered exactly to what the student wishes or needs to learn, and what I believe the best way to learn it would be. Lessons could cover categories such as: - Learning music notation in all its different forms and how to read scores from solo instruments to extremely large ensembles (learning the skills of instrumentation and arranging as well) - Music history and the analysis of works from notable composers from any era of classical or jazz - Music theory essentials that are likely to come up on any music theory test such as four part writing, figured bass, any form of cadence, writing traditional melodies and countermelodies - Composition techniques used throughout history and how one can use the music of the past to influence the music of the future. The lesson plan will also be adjusted to make sure that learning is happening at a pace that works with the student. There can be regularly scheduled tests for the student in any of the different categories mentioned above in order to ensure that the student fully understands what is being taught. Music is one of the greatest things in the world, and I can safely say that being able to help others learn all the amazing components of music as I have is something I take incredibly seriously. I will make sure that whether after one lesson, ten, or twenty, you will come away from this knowing more than you did before.

In addition to regular vocal lessons, I have completed a bachelor's degree in World Music with Ottoman Singing as the main subject. This enables me to go beyond the basics and offer additional expertise in areas such as makam theory and microtonal singing. These studies have taught me to embrace diversity and think outside conventional boundaries. I strongly believe that everyone can sing, and there is no such thing as a dissonant voice. Together, we can unlock your voice and help you sing your favourite songs with confidence and passion. Come and discover the power and beauty of your own voice, and let's make music together.

Hello, my name is Rafael, I am a musician with a high musical training. I have spent years in cities like Los Angeles, Madrid or London playing and studying with many of the best current musicians. I have studied with professors from conservatories such as the “Musicians institute” or “Berklee College of Music”. I finished part of my studies at the Hollywood Musicians Institute Conservatory obtaining a higher degree and currently I play and work in various bands and recording studios. I have years of experience training and motivating students of all levels with electric, acoustic, Spanish, classical, bass and beginner piano guitars. I teach musical harmony, sheet music reading, improvisation, technique, ear development, composition and much more through various styles such as blues, funk, rock, jazz, flamenco influences, pop, reggae, classical music... The methodology I use keeps the same pillars in all my classes but depending on the knowledge and situation of each student I adapt completely to their needs. In the vast majority of cases, the students, that is, if they pay attention to my instructions during the lesson in addition to practicing and studying at home during the week, show great evolution from the first class, familiarizing musical concepts and being able to transfer them and display them on the instrument. I am not a teacher who just tells you how to place your fingers, I get to the origin of harmonic, melodic and rhythmic understanding, I make you understand and understand it, and then you are able to capture and visualize it on the guitar. ------------ Hey my name is Rafael, I'm a Spanish musician with a high level of musical education. I am Nigel, a current piano instructor giving out lessons for beginners who want to get into learning the piano or build a consistent practice routine to building foundational piano technique from scratch. I currently offer online lessons from afternoons to late evenings as per your time preferences. Lessons are scheduled hourly and on a weekly basis. I teach based on the student’s learning approach and use methods that are tried and tested by most of the teachers in the piano teaching industry. Teaching style includes a bit of visual cues, practical approach and fun filled lessons with your choice of a favorite piece. Note that most of the repertoire we will cover is from the classical period but I do allow a mix of pop, jazz and blues tunes in our learning repertoire list. Currently Im in the second year B.M degree program at Belmont University and have done years of private lesson tutoring with some other students but on a small scale. In the coming years from now, I intend to expand my teaching expertise by finding other students who are interested in learning from me. My current student Luke (although I teach him in person since I’m based in the U.S) has benefited from my teaching methods and is still my prime student today. He joined back this year in august and loves my teaching approach. He particularly favors visual and practical methods towards certain topics but loves the choice of online / offline classes. Would love to get started with anyone interested! Looking forward for the online classes.
