I offer piano lessons in English, French or Italian for students of all ages and levels. Lessons focus on developing technique, musical understanding, listening skills, and artistic expression. My teaching is grounded in the Faber Piano Adventures method and enriched with creative activities such as improvisation, four-hand duets, and simple composition exercises. Each lesson is adapted to your interests and pace, whether you are learning for personal enjoyment, creative exploration, or to support other musical practices. For more advanced students, I also incorporate selected excerpts from Mikrokosmos by Béla Bartók, as well as pieces from the classical repertoire chosen in dialogue with the student. As a conservatory-trained singer and composer with five years of teaching experience, I bring a dynamic, relational approach that connects instrumental technique with creativity and personal expression. Lessons take place in the student’s home in Ghent, Brussels, and nearby areas, and last 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on age and level.

What is music theory? Is it just one theory? What do we do with it? How come so many of the greatest musicians didn't even know the name of the notes? Let's dispel the myth. They may, in fact, have lacked the names, but "knowing" in music means something else than a dusty stockpile of information and labels. Their ears, their voice, and their hands "know" very well. We can conceive music theory as a way to bring order into the endless realm of sound possibilities. Naming and conceptualizing these possibilities is useful in many ways. I like to think of it in two directions: on the one hand, theory provides us with an overarching understanding of what we have done with music, allowing us to generalize and repeat certain principles in other contexts (reflective element); on the other hand, it can also open us up to new sound combinations as we theorize and create concepts we haven't yet heard in music (generative element). One point remains crucial: music theories come from musical practice and return to musical practice. Theories are most useful when they serve music-making, but remain empty speculation without it. In these lessons, I will help you navigate music theories and what to do with them. I will show you a plurality of approaches to systematizing sound relationships that will best serve the music you love to play or want to compose. The lessons will be custom made for each student. Whether you are a beginner who simply wants a little help getting the basics right, or a cultivated musician fond of music theory who wants to explore advanced and complex concepts out of the box, I will provide you with ideas, materials, and exercises. Composition is one of most exam boards requirements for GCSE and A-level Music. In particular, to write a piece ranging from 2 - 3 minutes in length for either solo or chamber groups of instruments. I am majoring in composition at university and I specialise in tutoring music for students taking GCSE and/or A-level, having studied and taken these A-levels through the AQA Exam specification.
