(Italiano sotto) The first concert I ever went to was Metallica when I was 14. As a teenager I loved rock and metal and spent hours and hours practicing to become better and play those cool guitar solo's. When I turned 17 I really started to like classical Spanish music, playing the likes of Francisco Tárrega and Antonio de Lucena. For the past few years I have focused more on guitarists like John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Jason Mraz and other more mainstream western-style artists. With 14 years of experience playing solo and in a band, and 6 years of teaching experience at high schools and universities, I am convinced I can teach you a thing or two about the 6-string ;). If you are interested in learning any of these styles, or you just want to get started on the basics, I would love to help you become the guitarist you want to be!

“I’m really loving the feels of that” BBC Introducing “Filled with delicate nuances” Folk Radio TESTIMONIALS: "My son has had Josh as a guitar tutor for 6 years. I can highly recommend him. He has a fantastic manner and rapport with his students. He is an exceptionally skilled guitar player and tutor. My son has made phenomenal progress with Josh and has enjoyed working with Josh towards his Trinity Grades in classical guitar. In addition, Josh has motivated my son to compose his own music - with fabulous results." Amanda "Josh is very talented. He is flexible about what we play and finds things that suit my ability. He creates a fun environment to learn." Arthur, aged 14 "Josh has been teaching my son electric and electro-acoustic guitar for a year. His stimulating and relaxed approach means that I find my son plays his guitar on a daily basis just because he enjoys it, yet he is still covering quite a lot of technical stuff." Polly "My 12-year old daughter has been taking guitar classes with Joshua Geffin for over a year now. Previously she tried a couple of different instruments and music teachers but even though she is very musical and loves music, she would get bored and lose interest after a while. Josh’s inspirational and creative approach to teaching changed all this. She became passionate about playing her guitar, singing and writing her own music. Practicing is no longer a chore but fun and she looks forward to her class every week. In a relatively short period she made remarkable progress and has recently won a full music scholarship at Kingsdale." Duska "I took up the guitar in my 30s and am far from a natural musician! I’ve had a few teachers – all brilliant guitarists - but none have quite combined the same high level of patience, encouragement and flexibility as Josh. He let’s me play music I love and progress at my own pace. As a ‘mature’ student with an incredibly busy job, it is important that I don’t feel under pressure if I haven’t played between lessons. Josh is completely understanding of this and the fact that he teaches at my home is a massive bonus. He is a natural and talented teacher and I would not hesitate to recommend his lessons to anyone of any level." Jeanette "I have been having lessons with Josh for around 2 years now. He has really helped develop and improve the quality of my playing and also my appreciation of music as a whole and I am very happy with my progress. The lessons are always relaxed and enjoyable, but also professional with a focus and tailor-made according to my own personal goals, which I like. I prefer to concentrate on learning songs and to experiment with a variety of genres. Josh helps me do that and he keeps things fun by mixing in improvisation sessions and technique development to bring me on and help me improve as a player." Pete

Trusted teacher: If you are looking for a new approach to learning to play the guitar, this is the course for you. We will combine meditation techniques to optimize learning and cultivate positive mental states that help us play better. David Minguillón began his musical studies on the piano at the age of 8, discovering the guitar 9 years later. Thanks to his first guitar teacher, the Brazilian Pedro Neto, he gained access to a diverse world of sounds, from blues to samba, from rock to singer-songwriters, as well as jazz and classical music. In 2001, he entered the Professional Music Conservatory of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, completing the intermediate level in 3 years (6 academic years) and obtaining a degree in classical guitar in 2010 at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias. Later, he came into contact with flamenco guitar in Granada, where he worked regularly as a soloist at the Parador de La Alhambra. Later, he moved to Holland, where he obtained a master's degree in jazz guitar and collaborated on flamenco projects with guitarists Rezar Domínguez and Jerónimo Maya. In 2015, after winning the CajaCanarias Foundation scholarship, she began her second master's degree (Contemporary Performance, Production Concentration) at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Valencia, where she took part in numerous projects with teachers such as Víctor Mendoza, Perico Sambeat, Mariano Steimberg, Sergio Martínez, Celia Mur, among others. During his stay in the Valencian Community, he became interested in the world of sound therapy, training with Rafa Monsonís and incorporating singing bowls into his instrumentation. He currently lives in Tenerife and combines his activity as a guitar concert performer with that of a sound therapist and educator. He has released five albums under his own name: “MEI” (2007), “PUERTO DEL MAR” (2014, with the participation of Jorge Pardo and Kike Perdomo, among others), “DIÁLOGO CON UN DUENDE” (2016, with the French pianist Baptiste Bailly), “SOUNDBATH” (2020) and “UNA NUEVA VIDA” (2021, solo guitar, recorded live).
