I am originally from Italy & I lived in the UK for three years. Studying English was my biggest passion in life and I really wanted to experience the British culture first hand. After graduating in Human Sciences at my local High School in 2015 I moved to England to work as a support worker for individuals with mental & physical disabilities. I took a short break in 2017 to complete my 120 hours accredited TEFL course in Thailand and Cambodia. I completed my NVQ LEVEL 2 in Adult Care in 2019. At the beginning of June 2019 I decided to experience the South East Asian culture and I have been passing on my passion for the English language to my students (adults and children). I love travelling while giving back to local communities, sharing my knowledge and inspire others to do the same. English to me means connection, possibility to share your experience with others and opportunity. I like to build trust with my students little by little, learning about their needs and which methods work best for them and I am very focused on inspiring them to find and maintain a personal motivation to study English. With young students I like using the TPR method (total physical response) which I think works perfectly when teaching online too. With older students I like to prompt them to talk about their interests, what motivates them to learn English, their vision and goals for the future and so much more. I can teach any level of English, from beginner to advanced, revise homework, practice conversational English and anything you need help with. Flexibility is the key! (EN) There are many reasons why one wants to learn a new language, it can be for educational reasons, travel or simply out of interest, one thing is for sure, learning languages is a rewarding experience. My name is Leona. I currently work here in Valencia as a Conversation Assistant. I help English teachers in schools prepare materials and presentations in English. I have helped my students improve their level of English by practicing conversations and reviewing grammar and vocabulary. In my free time, I give private English classes to those who want an additional avenue to improve their understanding of English. I am a Filipino with a native/bilingual level of English, as it is one of the official languages of my country. I have numerous experiences teaching English from children to teenagers and adults. These experiences occur in a classroom or private class. My classes could be simply conversations or a more intensive one-on-one session with reviewers I have prepared and different learning modes (e.g. written exercises, oral activities). Ideally, I avoid translating words directly into students' native language to minimize their dependence on translation, instead explaining English words and concepts in a simpler way to improve their understanding. I like my classes to be a balance of a relaxed teaching environment while doing work. Students should never feel that mistakes are unacceptable, as it is normal and they are encouraged to learn.
