I teach oil painting in Geneva in a spirit of discovery and sharing and in the warm atmosphere of my workshop in Carouge.

For beginners, we approach the discovery of oil painting by mastering the material (support linen, paint tubes, painting knife, medium to paint) and mastery of colors.

I guide step by step my students in the realization of a still life, which is the best exercise to tame the oil painting, learn to handle brushes and brushes, manage the doses of paint on the canvas, mix and apply the colors.

We then work on topics of your choice such as landscapes and seascapes. The goal is to learn how to work with backgrounds and color gradients, paint skies, the sea and clouds, learn to master the light and represent the shadows. It is also a matter of constructing one's painting by applying the great principles of composition and the rules of perspective.

About Me

Passionate about oil painting, I like to share my knowledge and accompany my students in the realization of their artistic project. My goal is to make art accessible to everyone and that everyone can afford a creative parenthesis.

After 4 sessions, each beginner has finished his first painting and has adapted the basic techniques of oil painting. For intermediate students, it is always very rewarding to progress in mastering techniques and composition.

Education

Trained for over ten years at the Atelier du Passage in Paris, I explored various registers with my different masters:
- the control of colors, in the manner of the 17th century, with Georges Faget-Bénard,
- painting with a knife,
- the work "alla prima" with the talented Jean Arcelin,
- outdoor painting with Stéphane Ruais, painter of the Navy and the Air Force,
- composition and work after living model with Christophe Thiry, school Barbizon and painter of the Air Force.

Watercolor lessons at the workshop - Geneva
Academic teaching based on practice. We will mainly work with watercolour, gouache and India ink. I teach academic drawing and painting and the basics of composition for any level of training.
